OnePlus 9RT Design
The OnePlus 9RT comes with Nano Silver and Hacker Black and the one which I received is the black variant. Talking about the device I must say that the rear panel looks smooth and by smooth I mean its panel offers a velvety finish which makes it scratch-proof. I’m impressed that the rear panel is not a fingerprint magnet and this allows me to enjoy the design of the phone by not using an ugly case and making the phone thicker.
The OnePlus 9RT offers a sleek design with volume rocker keys on the left chassis and a power button beneath the slider button on the right frame. At the bottom, the handset offers a USB Type-C port for charging, a SIM Tray, and a speaker grill. The triple camera setup is placed at the top-left corner of the back panel in a rectangular bump. The overall design of the phone is impressive and premium. The form factor is the one that has convinced me to give some good points to the design. Let’s have a look at the specifications.
OnePlus 9RT Powerful Hardware and Software
The OnePlus 9RT is powered by the flagship Qualcomm Snapdragon 888 chipset with 5G connectivity. The smartphone is paired with 12GB LPDDR5 RAM and 256GB UF 3.1, ensuring the smooth flow and performance of the phone. Under the hood, the company has also taken care of the cooling system of the phone by equipping the phone with VC liquid cooling which makes sure that the phone is calm during the long gaming hours. I will talk about this in detail in the performance part.
Furthermore, the OnePlus 9RT runs on Android 11 based on Oxygen OS. The UI of the smartphone is impressive like all the OnePlus devices and I really liked it.
OnePlus 9RT Display with 120Hz Refresh Rate
A 6.62-inch Fluid AMOLED display is equipped on the OnePlus 9RT with a refresh rate of 120Hz and resolution of 2400x1080 pixels. The display offers a 20:9 aspect ratio and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass. The display also comes with a punch-hole cutout design to accommodate the selfie camera sensor. The Fluid AMOLED panel does justice to the viewing experience of the phone, the color and saturation of the phone are perfectly balanced and the 144Hz refresh rate offers a premium gaming experience with high-resolution graphics. Overall the display of the 9RT seems interesting to me and the response rate is also on point.
OnePlus 9RT Camera Specifications and Samples
The OnePlus 9RT has done something really interesting with the camera sensors, the company has joined hands with Sony to develop the camera sensor of the smartphone. The Triple rear-camera sensor of the phone carries a 50-megapixel Sony IMX766 primary imaging sensor with optical image stabilization. The other two sensors include a 16-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens with a field of view of 123 degrees, and a 4cm Macro shooter which allows you to shoot macro images. At the front, it houses a 16-megapixel camera sensor for selfies and video calls.
Talking about the camera performance I must say that the camera sensor is capable enough of clicking high-resolution images with balanced colors. Features like Nightscape and Pro offer you an upper hand to click DSL-like images. The rear camera sensors are impressive and the company is offering a great deal at this price point. I
On the other hand, the 16-megapixel front camera sensor offers a clear and sharp picture quality, alongside, the OnePlus 9RT also offers a beauty mode that enhances the saturation and colors while clicking selfies. Moreover, you can also use the beauty mode while making a video call.
OnePlus 9RT Performance and Battery Life
I have been using the OnePlus 9 RT for the last 3 weeks like my daily driver or you can say as my primary phone. After spending 504 hours with the smartphone I can say that spending your hard-earned money on the OnePlus 9RT is not a bad deal. I haven’t faced any issues with the phone so far during my entire usage. The phone is used for almost everything taking calls, playing games, internet surfing, texting, scrolling Instagram reals, watching Netflix, and more.
Performance-wise the phone didn’t lag a single time while using it, the speaker and call quality of the phone is outstanding. The in-display fingerprint scanner performance is better than the predecessor and the best part is the handset didn’t heat up like an oven when you hook up with the charging adapter. I have experienced that with my OnePlus 8 but it's great to see that the company has worked on it after receiving the feedback.
OnePlus 9RT packs a 4,500mAh battery with 65W Wrap Charge support, which ensures fast charging, and indeed the charging is really fast. During my entire usage, I have received a good battery life with one single charge I’m using the handset for more than 8-hours without playing games and with games, it can go up to 6 hours which is quite impressive. So with that said I can say that the OnePlus 9RT is a good deal for those who are planning to upgrade and who are looking to buy something in the same range.
Things Which I don’t Like About OnePlus 9RT
There are very limited things that I don’t like about the OnePlus 9RT because the smartphone didn’t miss a single chance to impress me. The only thing which I don’t like or I can say which company should change is the confusing design. If you look at the OnePlus 9Pro and OnePlus 9RT there is a lot of similarity in term of design and the complimentary case made them looks like twins.
I don’t want my friend Maninder to pick up my phone all the time thinking it’s his OnePlus 9 Pro and try unlocking it with his fingerprint. OnePlus next time try incorporating some significant differences when it comes to design.
