Samsung launched the Galaxy A33 5G and the Galaxy A53 5G at the Awesome Galaxy event. The company launched its new mid-range smartphones with a 5000 mAh battery and a quad-camera array. Alongside the two devices, the company has also quietly launched the Samsung Galaxy A73 5G.
The Galaxy A73 5G will be available for purchase in limited markets starting April 22. There is no word on the India launch date at the moment. Samsung has unveiled the Galaxy A73 5G for the global market. The company did not announce the pricing details of its new premium offering. The phone comes with 6GB/ 8GB of RAM and has 128GB/ 256GB storage options. The storage options might vary region-to-region. Samsung might announce the pricing details depending on the region where it launches the phone.
The Galaxy A73 5G features a Snapdragon 778G SoC. It is paired with up to 8GB of RAM. On top of the 256GB of internal storage, users can add another 1TB of external storage via a microSD card. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack on the A73 5G.
In terms of cameras, the Galaxy A73 5G has a quad-camera setup. It comes with a 108MP main camera sensor, which is the first in the company’s A-series lineup. The phone also features a 12MP ultrawide camera and two 5MP sensors for depth sensing and macro photography. There is no optical telephoto camera on the A73 5G. It has a 32MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
The phone has a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED display with a hole-punch cutout at the top centre. It supports a 120Hz refresh rate. The phone measures 76.1 x 163.7 x 7.6mm and is 181 grams in terms of weight. It packs a 5000 mAh battery with 25W fast charging support. There is no charger in the box. The phone runs Android 12 out of the box with a layer of One UI 4.1 on top. Samsung has promised up to four years of Android updates and five years of security updates.
