Galaxy Z Flip4: Leaks reveal early details of Samsung's more affordable foldable phone
While the Galaxy Z Fold4 continues to dominate the rumor mill, Samsung also has the Galaxy Z Flip4 in the works. It's mostly been radio silence about the more affordable foldable phone but that looks to have changed today.
As reported by @TheGalox_, the Galaxy Z Flip4 is slated to debut with a bigger battery than its predecessor. The Galaxy Z Flip 5G and Galaxy Z Flip3 both had 3300 mAh batteries, obviously constrained by the phones' form factors. According to the source, the increase in battery capacity could be in the range of 300 mAh to 600 mAh. That increase in battery capacity would require a larger chassis as well, and the same source also claims the Galaxy Z Flip4 could be wider than the Galaxy Z Flip3.
It appears Samsung is expecting a huge upturn in sales of the Galaxy Z Flip4 as well. According to supply chain analyst Ross Young, display shipments for the Galaxy Z Flip4 will begin next month. Supposedly, Samsung has made orders for 8.7 million panels as opposed to the 5.1 million it made for the Galaxy Z Flip3 last year. That translates into about a projected 70% rise in shipments, which could be indicative of Samsung's strong faith in the quality of the Galaxy Z Flip4.
